The Peach Cobbler Factory, a dessert shop that's undertaking a rapid expansion across Louisiana, will soon be opening locations in Lafayette and Scott.

Founded in Nashville in 2013, the shop offers a number of dessert options, including several types of cobblers, banana puddings, cinnamon rolls, cookies and Pudd-n Shakes. The company has been adding franchises at a rapid rate, with it securing 150 commitments for stores in 17 states during its first nine months of franchising.

Back in June 2022, the company said in a release that it anticipated having 50 stores in operation and 250 commitments by the end of 2022. The company has said that the average startup cost for a new location is around $85,000 to $125,000 and takes around two to four months to start up.

The shop has one open Louisiana location, but it lists seven on its website as opening soon, including locations in Lafayette and Scott. Neither location has announced an official grand opening date, but the Lafayette store did post on Facebook on April 26 saying that it was looking to hire employees starting at $12 an hour. The Scott store had a similar post on March 13 with a startling hourly wage of $11 an hour.

The Lafayette location will be at 2916 Johnston Street, just across from Moncus Park. The Scott location is planned for 5535 Cameron Street.
